EPISODE 4- REGRETS AND DESIRES

After learning the shocking truth, Nya knows what to do, but it seems that Mystake has another plan. Ninja finally find a possible way to save Kai and Skylor.

"My mother was the Master of Water." Nya repeated in shock.

"Yes, don't faint again!" Mistake said, pressing another handkerchief to her forehead.

"I..." Nya said with a sigh.

"I thought they told you." Mistake explained to her. "Because you are needed."

"I can be needed as Samurai X." Nya protested. She honestly understood little of what Mistake was saying.

"Samurai X cannot control water." Mistake stood up and looked at Nya. "Nor can she do the other things ninjas do. Remember Nya, you are needed."

"What does that mean?" Nya sighed again. "What do you know about what's happening?"

"I know everything, yet I know nothing." Mistake replied. "You are needed, Nya. Ninjago and beyond need a water ninja."

"But I'm not a water ninja," Nya said desperately. "And I don't want to be."

"You're not a ninja. But you will become one. Even if not here and not now." Mistake said, clenching her fists. "We have much to do."

"I have to go help Garmadon and Misako," Nya said, standing up decisively. "And the guys!"

"First, you have to listen to me." Mistake said, gesturing for her to follow.

"I don't think this is a good idea," Cole repeated as they descended.

"We have no choice," Lloyd sighed.

"We really don't," Sanfungol confirmed. He didn't quite resemble Zane, but it was better than nothing. Certainly better than...

"Lightning! Lightning!" Dareth shouted, mimicking the sounds of thunder.

"Shh." Lloyd put a finger to his lips. "The less you two talk, the less chance there is of getting caught."

"Are you..." Cole began, but the guards interrupted him.

"STOP!" they shouted, quickly surrounding the ninjas.

"Here are my favorite guests!" Chen yelled as the guards carried him to the throne.

"You act like a king, Chen," Cole said glumly. "Where is Kai?"

"And what do you want with him and Skylor?" Lloyd added sternly.

"I want to have fun," Chen replied cheerfully, sinking deeper into the throne. "And why are these two silent?"

"Because they have no need to speak," Cole snapped before Dareth and Sanfungol could say anything.

"What are you trying to do, Chen?" Lloyd asked. "This time, you won't easily steal the elemental powers!"

"I've given up on my grand plans," Chen said unconvincingly. "I just want to have fun."

"How did you come back?" Cole clenched his fists.

"Blah blah blah," Chen rolled his eyes. "Questions are boring. Let the fun begin!"

"We're here for Kai and Skylor!" Cole shouted angrily. "Not for fun."

"But that's the point, earth ninja," Chen said with a slight smile. "Choose one among yourselves. And let him dare to pass through this room here! If he succeeds, you have Kai and Skylor."

"How can we trust you?" Lloyd frowned.

"I don't think you have a choice," Chen shrugged. "Did I mention that if you don't leave this room quickly enough, you will lose your sanity?"

"Who will go?" Cole snapped as all four of them huddled together in a circle.

"I'll go," Lloyd said decisively.

"No way!" Cole countered.

"I am a leader," Lloyd reminded him.

"Exactly." Cole pressed his lips together. "We need you, and I'll handle whatever is in there!"

"I'm going," Lloyd insisted. "I’m the green ninja."

"As you wish," Cole sighed reluctantly. "We’re behind you!"

"I know," Lloyd smiled and looked at Chen. "I'm going!"

"How is this possible?" Nya asked when they entered a room full of maps.

"What?" Mistake absentmindedly asked as she searched for some things.

"Everything about Chen..." Nya peeked over Mistake's shoulder.

"There are possibilities of a spirit returning from the Cursed Realms." Mistake said.

"But Chen isn't..." Nya began, but Mistake interrupted her.

"But there is a way for both spirit and body to return!" Mistake took a map and showed it to Nya.

"I don't understand anything." Despite that, Nya admired the map.

"Listen. This is the Kingdom of the Six Duchies, or rather, it now has seven duchies, but it doesn’t matter. It is located across the sea."

"Why don't we know much about it if it's very close?" Nya asked curiously.

"We are in the same realm, but they, along with a few other kingdoms, keep to themselves, while we keep to ourselves. We aren’t quite alike, but we’re not that different either."

"Does Chen have anything to do with this?" Nya frowned.

"Yes, as I told you. Exactly two weeks after being exiled, a ritual can be performed that frees the exiled souls." Mistake pointed to a specific spot on the map.

"As you can see, it can only be done in a special place, which is located in the Six Duchies."

"Has anyone ever tried that?" Nya looked at the map in confusion. "And that means..."

"Yes, many have tried, but they failed. It is very difficult to carry out." Mistake said, putting the map away. "Not just anyone can do it.

Someone very powerful and cunning. Someone who needs Chen and his army."

"But who could that be?" Nya felt the pressure rising. The situation was serious.

"Anyone." Mistake exhaled. "And Chen has been free for some time, devising a plan..."

"And someone is with him." Nya finished.

"Probably." Mistake said as she exited the room.

"The Chen doesn't plan the same thing again, right?" Nya said while following Mistake.

"No." Mistake said decisively. "That’s why you need to bring us Skylor. And after that, probably Misako. Actually, for sure."

"But who first?" Nya quietly asked. "We know that Misako and Garmadon are captured."

"It will be difficult to do anything there." Mistake said sadly, looking firmly at Nya.

"But..." Nya protested.

"We need both of them. Garmadon to train you, and Misako for information." Mistake interrupted.

"And they are part of our family." Nya noted.

"Let’s hope for the best." Mistake said, looking sharply into Nya's eyes. "You have to bring us ninjas and Skylor."

"How do you know they are in trouble?" Nya asked worriedly.

"I just know." Mistake cut off Nya's questions and looked away. Nya did not waste another second.

"Green ninja, how cute!" Chen laughed. "Come on in."

Lloyd slowly walked to the room, with Cole, Dareth, and Sanfungol anxiously standing behind him.

As he entered the room, he felt a cold breeze envelop him. Soon, the dark room became bright.

Inside, Lloyd saw images. Images he didn’t remember—pictures from his childhood with his parents.

"Welcome to the room of your greatest regrets and desires," a voice said, and Lloyd turned around to find no one there.

"My greatest regrets and desires..." Lloyd whispered, continuing to gaze at the scenes of his childhood.

“Why…” Then he immediately realized. They were so happy—he and his parents—and he remembered nothing.

He watched the images of his mom and dad playing with him, tears welling in his eyes.

Simple little things. Cooking with his parents, drawing with them, going to the park. How they hugged him...

"That’s not a part of me. That’s not me... I don’t remember anything from before my fifth year... Before Darkly's." Lloyd said, distressed.

For a while, tears streamed down Lloyd's face, and then he felt himself slowly becoming part of those images...

He drowned in memories that weren't even his... How wonderful it would be to live in those days again.

To be a normal child once more. To be a kid. To grow up with parents.

"...if you don't leave this room quickly enough, you will lose your sanity.." He felt the voice echoing in his head.

"I have to go," Lloyd said, slowly passing through the room.

He wanted to stay so badly... He would give anything to remain. But he was stronger than that.

"Kai!" he shouted as he stepped out. He found himself in a cold dungeon. There were no guards.

"Lloyd?" he heard two voices at once.

"Wait," Lloyd said and grabbed the nearest torch. His eyes were still red.

It was frighteningly dark. To his relief, he found a key on the floor and unlocked Kai and Skylor.

Could it be that Chen kept his promise?

"Lloyd, how?" Kai looked at him in awe.

"Are you..." Skylor began, but Lloyd interrupted her.

"We have to go. Quickly! The question is how long Chen will pretend to keep his word."

"Zane, Jay!" Nya shouted as she descended with her Samurai X to the guys.

"Nya!" Jay yelled, rushing to her.

"What’s going on?" Nya looked confused. "Where are they..."

"Down with Dareth and Sanfungol, who are pretending to be us," Zane tried to explain to her.

"Dareth and who?" Nya asked.

"We don’t have time!" Zane shouted. "I see Kai and Skylor with them, but Chen's soldiers won’t let them go."

"Let’s go!" Nya shouted, jumping into her Samurai X suit.

"You’re not going anywhere!" the guards shouted.

"You promised," Lloyd said, grinding his teeth.

"And you weren’t supposed to pass through that room!" Chen pulled. "The guards..."

"It's over, Chen!" Nya yelled, diving down.

"Samurai X?" Chen looked at her confused. "Weren’t you in a monastery..."

"How do you know?" Kai asked.

"Run! I’ll hold them back!" Nya shouted. Everyone began to flee as Nya held off the guards.

Zane and Cole greeted them and helped them climb up without obstruction.

Once everyone got out, Sanfungol sealed the entrance to the underground passages.

"I’ll freeze it!" Zane stopped Sanfungol.

"No, this has a different mechanism!" Sanfungol replied, starting to fiddle with the entrance.

"There, that should do it. We should have some time..."

"Did you find any help, Nya?" Lloyd asked.

"Unfortunately, they’re all unavailable," Nya sighed.

"Who is unavailable?" Skylor asked.

"The elemental masters," Jay explained to her. "Do you think Chen..."

"Possible," Skylor sighed.

"Let's go to the Mystake tea shop," Nya said. "We can’t waste time."

"I’ve had enough ninja adventures for today," Dareth smiled. "I’m going!"

"Do I have your permission to go with you?" Sanfungol politely asked. Lloyd frowned slightly at this.

"You've proven yourself an ally," Cole said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"If you claim to be a friend, we trust you!" Zane added. "Let’s go!"

"Wait!" Lloyd said, and everyone froze. "Any information about Sensei Wu and my parents?"

"Wu has gone beyond the Ninjago," Nya said seriously. "Mystake assumes to a place where the ritual was performed to bring Chen and his army back."

"Where is that?" Zane asked.

"We don’t have time right now," Nya shook her head. "Mystake will explain everything."

"And where's Clouse?" Jay remembered. "We haven’t seen him."

"My parents, Nya?" Lloyd anxiously asked. He had a feeling something was wrong.

"Clouse has been spying on us with a mechanical spider," Nya began.

"What!" everyone exclaimed in surprise.

"He knew Misako and Garmadon were going to the docks and captured them..." Nya struggled to finish the last sentence as she watched Lloyd's expression change.

"We have to save them!" Lloyd said firmly.

"I'm sorry." Nya sighed sadly. "We need to go to Mystake first."

"Why?" Kai interrupted. "We go for them, then to Wu."

"Because we need to understand what my father is planning," Skylor interjected. "I know I'm not authorized to tell you this.

They’re all your family... but first, we must hear what Mystake has to say, and then we go for them!"

"That's right, Lloyd," Sanfungol said, placing a hand on Lloyd's shoulder. "Don't worry kid. We will go for them as soon as possible, and it will be quick."

"Thank you." Lloyd smiled slightly. His distrust of Sanfungol was somewhat fading.

When he looked closer at his face, he could see fine, well-hidden wrinkles. His face could be in its fifties.

"Then let's not waste any more time!" Kai said, and everyone followed him.

"Wait aren't you thinking this was a little too easy?" Zane asked as they ran.

"It won't be easy." Nya reminded him."

"But it feels like they leted us go," Zane explained.

"Actually, you're right." "Lloyd stopped in amazement." Who knows what Chen is planning."

I feel like we forget that Skylor is actually like, rich asf? I mean she inherited her fathers noodle empire which is probably alllll over ninjago so she probably makes like millions a year but she's just like "yeah" about it

So I would put this above most pre-dragons rising seasons, though I do think a lot of this season could have been compressed instead of stretched over 10 episodes. Not sure I'd call it filler, not sure i wouldn't either.

That said, good season.

NINJAGO 90'S AU - PART 1 (part 2)

now a few silly headcanons...

Nya skateboards

Jay and Nya 100% watch anime together, they just don't tell anyone

Zane and Cole go vinyl hunting

Lloyd works part time in a comic book store while Zane is volunteering in a animal rescue center (and that's how he got his falcon)

Kai's favorite bands are Nirvana and Sex Pistols

Nya likes indie bands more than mainstream (favorite band is Bôa)

When Kai and Lloyd discovered they both like Nirvana and both play electric guitar, it was insta friendship

Jay plays electric bass

They like eating at Chen's Noodle House instead of school cafeteria (they get discount 'cause they're Skylor's friends)

Jay and Nya meet at the skating park to, well, skate

Lloyd and Cole are the only ones with a cellphone and Zane has a pager/beeper (idk how y'all call it)

Lloyd has a car and is the group's driver (although Cole and Kai have a license)

They have Friday assigned as movie night and they vote to decide who's choosing the next movie

I was waiting for this one. I have so many ideas what should I write about.

Lloyd

(Reader is the master of the telekinesis)

°× The team was having trouble in fight. More and more criminals came to fight them making it almost impossible to stop them.

°× The mission seemed to fail in any moment. Lloyd know it well but he started to run out of ideas

°× You recognised from the distance their struggle. You were an unknown hero. You always helped from the distance.

°× That's why lot of people didn't know who are you. You have never got caught. Your identity was always hid.

°× You decided to sacrafise your mysteriousness to help the ninjas. Because that's what a real hero would do.

°× You jumped down from the roof and you with your power you throw the criminals at the wall.

°× Lloyd's eye widened as he took your form in. He wondered who are you and why are you helping them, but he wouldn't complain.

°× He was admiring you, completely forgeting about the mission, which is quite strange from him.

°× As you fought down the criminals with such a perfect movements and how your hair is blow by the gentle wind made his heart sped up.

°× He didn't even notice that who he was fighting with took his chance to kill him.

°× Fortunetely, you noticed it in time so you could stop the criminal by kicking him away with all your strenght

°× He snapped out quickly feeling embarrased by his action trying to collect himself.

"Thank you..."

"Thank me later, there all still a lot to take out"

°× You winked at him with a smile what made Lloyd blush and smirk. He got back to finish the mission.

°× Soon the mission ended up succesful and you took the criminals to the police station.

°× The ninjas thanked for your help. Lloyd was happy for your unexpedted arrival. He wished it would have last longer..

°× Because he absolutely wants to see you again and get to know you.

"Call me anytime you need me!"

"Thank you!"

Kai

°× He was in Chen's noodle restaurant with Skylor. She called him so he can try a new recipe and ask his opinion about it.

°× He noticed you a few tables away that you try to enjoy your meal, but a guy doesn't leave you alone. Your back was facing him.

°× The guy insulted you but you just stayed silent doing nothing about it...well, not too long you had enough.

°× You stood up grabbing the guy by the collar and started insulting him back. That was the first time he saw your face.

°× Oh how your eyes were in fire with anger. How you clenched your teeths. He always had something for strong women who can stand up for themselves.

°× Even though, he likes to watch you bit back but he had to stop both of you before things get wild.

°× So he stood between both of you and told the guy to fuck off as politely as he can so no fights will happen.

"He's gone you can calm down now"

"Alright..alright"

"Bye the way I'm Kai"

"Y/n.."

°× He made sure you that you can eat peacfully. Soon you guys started talking and later he had your number.

°× Your angry facial expression slowly melted and you releaved your bubbly, cuter side of you. His eyes fixed on you the whole time.

°× Skylor noticed the slight blush on Kai's cheeks. She winked at him before she left him alone with you.

Nya

°× It was one of the unlucky day when she had to use a public transport to visit one of her friends outside of the team.

°× She had to use the metro to get to the friend's house which is always full of people. Khm khm Ninjago city is large.

°× The metro doors opened and big amount of people got off of it but also a lot of people wanted to get inside impatiently.

°× You were one of those who wanted to get inside. You nervously tried to get yourself through the people who somehow pushed you around.

°× In one unexpected push of a guy made you fall. Luckily someone could catch you in time before you would have got under the crowd.

°× Nya pulled you back to your feet holding your hand staring into your eyes. Your cheeks got hot as you both just looked into each other's eyes like the time stopped.

°× Some complains got you both to snap out of it as she quickly pulled you into the metro with her.

°× When you were finally inside you started to chuckle as she did the same. You tugged a stray hair behind your ear.

°× She asked you that you're alright and you thanked her her help. Awkward silence fell on you as you noticed she still hold your hand.

"My hand.."

"Oh yeah, I'm sorry"

°× You talked with each other the whole time until both of you had to get off. She asked for your number before she left.

°× When she got off at the stop she looked at your phone number with a soft smile. Her cheeks flushed.

°× Her mood was much better for the rest of the day.

Zane

°× He was shopping in a local grocery store for supplies for the dinner he's gonna make for the ninjas.

°× Most of the times he pays a lot of attention what he's doing but this time he was searching for a seasoning.

°× He was that focused that he didn't watch where he goes and bumped into you. You fell and your things were everywhere on the floor.

°× He immediately apologised with a worried look, pulling you back to your feet.

"I'm so sorry. Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?"

"I'm fine, don't worry"

°× You chuckled croaching down to put your things back into your backet. Zane felt guilty and croached down to helping you get your things.

°× For a moment you looked up from the floor at him with a surpised face. Your faces were so close.

"Sorry"

°× You blushed thanking him his help. Soon everything was back in your basket. You both stared at each other nervously.

"I apologise again. Can I make it up to you with a dinner?"

"Is it a date?"

"Only if you want it to be.."

°× You both laughed about it and soon your number was in his contacts. He happily made dinner for his friends talking about your meeting.

Jay

°× You went to a well-known arcade in Ninjago city. You were looking forward to have some fun but you quickly realised playing alone is boring.

°× You walked around the arcade searching for people who might want to play with you, but unfourtunatly no one was symphatic for you

°× You kept looking but soon you noticed a two player dancing game. The game was all colorful and it was just waiting to be played with.

"Looking for a player 2?"

°× A messy brown haired guy with freckles stood in front of you. You wanted to force out a word but you just nooded.

°× His heart sped up from your beauty and seeing that same interest for the same game as him wanted to marry you on the spot.

"That's my favorite game. It doesn't have a lot of fan. I'm surprised that someone wants to play with it."

°× His cheek flushed as he stepped onto the dance stage with colorful squares on it. You did the same.

°× Soon the game started and you both placed your foot where the game told you so. Sometimes doing little spins.

°× Your nervousness got pushed away as you started enjoying the game.

°× Jay sometimes looked over at you and he was happy to see you enjoy the game just like him.

°× At the end of the game both of you chuckled together, wanting another round.

°× Then both of you played other games together. You became arcade buddies. Meeting up once or twice a week to play games together.

Cole

(I got carried away😓)

°× The ninjas were out in Dareth's karaoke bar having fun. He wad very chill trying new cocktales and even dancing (sometimes)

°× The others made a bet that if he loses it he has to sing a song what they decide to. They obviously wanted see him sing again. (From the oni triology)

°× Poor guy lost the bet and he had to stand on the karaoke stage with a microphone in his hand.

°× The song started playing and the lyrics became visible on a little board. He nervously stood there waiting.

°× You were also in the bar, bored playing with your drink in your hand. The song change got your attention and looked up.

°× A black raven haired guy about to sing so you waited patiently for him. When he started he looked nervous but by the time he got comfortable.

°× He was really having fun and this boosted your energy watching him with amazed eyes. He didn't noticed you. Yet.

°× When the song ended he bowed with a wide smile as some of the people started cheering.

°× You didn't wait a second before you walked over him and pocked him to get his attention.

°× When he turned around his eyes widened like he was staring into heaven. He fell in love on the spot and not even a word left his mouth.

"I saw you singing. I really liked it. Are you up to for another karaoke?.. With me?"

°× First he didn't know what to answer and just stared at you, but he quieckly realised he should answer when you looked at him confused.

"Of course I love singing. What song you want to sing?"

°× The other ninjas looked at him confused. They thought he hates singing or anything related to that.

°× Soon you put the song in and start to move to the beat. Cole does the same his eyes not leaving you.

°× At the first line when he heard your voice his eyes started sparkling with amaze. Your voice was angelic.

°× He sang along with you smiling. Then suddenly both of you started dancing with each other giving a show to all the people in the bar.

°× All the people stood up also dancing. Someone with the other and someone just alone.

"What is happening for real?"

"No idea.."

°× The vibes were perfect. When the song ended your breathing was heavy from all the moves.

°× You smiled at each other when the people started clapping. You tugged your hair behind your ear with a blush. Cole turned away with flushed cheeks.

°× Later when you said goodbye to each other the other ninjas looked at Cole surprised and confused.

"Since when do you like singing?"

"Since now."

"I detected a signs of interest towards that girl.."

"...."

It took me a while to finish this project. I broke my glasses so now I have a hard time to do anything because I can't see a lot.

So yeah. I have one request in my inbox before I would have closed the requests. I will make that one and it will open when I feel like.

Whose to say the ninja would actually recognise a living, breathing Morro when they only knew him green, see through, and dead.

I highly doubt the whole green and see through thing made it easy to see all his facial features when you can also see a chair through him.

So i personally find it likely that Morro could just wear a baseball cap to hide the green streak, maybe some makeup if he still has his under eye markings or a green glowing scar like Cole’s, and just walk freely around Ninjago.

Like maybe Wu might recognise him, that was his first student after all and technically his kid, but the last time he saw a living Morro was decades ago and when he was ten, so.

But Morro might still get away with it seeing as Wu doesn’t seem like the type to be around Ninjago city often, so all he really has to deal with is the ninja and their friends.

He actively avoids Chen’s noodle house unless he’s feeling self destructive enough, he has to hide from Jay and Lloyd at the comic book store in the isle right next to theirs, he actually does frequent Dareth’s restaurant until he almost bumps straight into Nya, he goes no where near that large tower in the middle of the city (Borg tower) and instead frequents the library where he comes face to face with Zane, and when he runs off barely making it by he almost runs head first into Cole who just picked up some cake and was now meeting up with Zane.

If this was a fanfic, Cole and Zane would end up talking to a very reluctant Morro, somehow forcefully convince him for his number from a phone he magically got, and would be stuck with two ninja trying to interact with this guy name ‘roe’

After you fought the Overlord, it was quiet. 

Not in the sense of volume, but it was calm. Usually, you'd be restless, aching for a fight to keep the adrenaline pumping, but right now? 

You were happy to have a break. 

Especially with Cole. After months of figuring out feelings and sending mixed signals to each other (Cole had once thought you were in love with Jay — even though he was one, dating Nya, and two, you were asking the electricity ninja for tips on how to get Cole to like you back in the first place), he had confessed to you shyly and asked you out on a date. He took you to a coffee shop, and you guys just clicked. He made you happy, made you laugh, made you feel loved. And you loved him all the same.  

Seven months after dating, he asked you to move in with him, as if you didn't practically live with him from the amount of time you spent at his home. Moving in with him was seamless, it was like nothing changed, except now you woke up with an adorable, snoring Adonis of a man, and went to bed with a giant teddy bear who basically melted in your embrace. 

After you fought the Overlord, it was normal.  

It was like nothing happened, adjusting to your new lives immediately. Obviously, you and your fellow ninja were celebrities all over Ninjago - you all were probably asked to give autographs five times a day, minimum. Meeting up with your friends was a frequent occurrence, all going to Chen’s Noodle House and enjoying Skylar’s amazing cooking while catching up with the others.  

It was routine now, everything refreshingly the same, down to where you sat. You and Cole would take one of the booth seats, with Jay and Nya across from the two of you. Pixal sat down next to Nya, and Zane sat next to Cole, Lloyd and Kai at the head of the table (painfully single- much to Skylar and the rest of the ninja's annoyance).  

All of you had surprisingly adjusted to normal life without fighting opponents twenty-four -seven very easily, though some had more difficulty than others. 

 Jay worked as a event host at his local comic shop, organizing mini conventions and trivia nights for fellow geeks such as himself.  

Kai returned to the dojo he used to have, teaching children how to defend themselves so that they wouldn’t be as defenseless as he was when he lost his powers.  

Lloyd helped his mom and Master Wu reopen their tea shop from so long ago, working the cash register and making people’s lives a little happier with a bright smile every day.  

Nya worked as a mechanic in her free time, opening a garage and surrounding herself with what she did best: building. Jay stopped by on occasion, helping her with certain projects, but also joining her in tinkering with some spare 

parts sometimes. Zane and Pixal had the most difficulty adjusting, their different appearances making them stand out like sore thumbs. But eventually, they found their home giving lectures at schools with a different perspective on certain topics, enjoying the ability to share 

their infinite knowledge with others. And then there was Cole and yourself. Being a ninja of Nature, you worked at the local florist, finding it refreshing to be surrounded by so many plants whenever you could. You worked your magic with them, keeping the plants fresh and ending up owning the store yourself once the previous owner retired.  

Cole worked as a barista at the local coffee shop, and you stopped by to get food and give him some company on your breaks. It was nice, you think, to spend some time together with him after years of constantly fighting who knows what.  

You greet him, opening the door with a jingle, and walk up to him, as he was closing up.  

"Hey, Rocky," you hum, leaning against one of the tables as he sets his broom down. 

 He walks over to you, hugging you close by the waist and resting his chin on top of your head, placing a soft kiss on your forehead.  

"Hi, Blossom," he murmurs into your hair, and you take the time to just admire him. The curve of his nose, the small tilt of the corners of his mouth, showing that he was happy, the apples of his cheeks, the stubble that littered across his impeccable jawline. He smelled like the earth just after it rained, and ground coffee, one of the many things you love about him. His hair was artfully mussed, black tresses tucked underneath his visor, and you take it off his head, running your fingers through his hair. 

 It was just the two of you, standing inside the cafe in the light pf golden hour, drinking up each other’s warmth and love, together.  

After you fought the Overlord, it was nice.

Ninjago Headcanons!!

KAI EDITION

-He is a history nerd and we need to acknowledge that in the fandom

-Ninjago likes him alot more than the others (-Lloyd, ofc) because he generally stops to help them out and connects with them better (source: loses his powers) and keeps them updated (take S6 in the hospital)

-Speaking of, his students he's had over the years will just stop him in the street and ask him how his day was, how things were going, etc. (This somehow leads to a reunion dinner at Chens Noodle House with Skylar billing the other ninja 'For being the lesser teachers - :D' )

- He and the other elemental masters still do 'The Tornament of Elements' when they can, the other ninja don't know, the only reason Kai does is because he hangs out with Skylar.

- Kai has been banned from the internet (reason see: season 6), so he only knows bits and pieces of pop culture from Lloyd and Jay. So baby gets confused when some citizens call him a Dilf. Nya and Lloyd make an attempted murder, yet they still never tell him what it means.

- Ronin frequently teaches him how to be a better ninja in return for not arresting him.

I have an idea

An au where Kai never shows up to the chens noodle house meeting cuz he was mad at what Lloyd said and instead ends up going deeper into ninjagos crime scene.

* Kai gets pissed at Lloyd callling him selfish and ends up getting really drunk and misses the meeting with Lloyd jay and Cole

* On his way back he accidentally falls into one of the canals and almost drowns. He manages to get out but a passer by recognizes him and saw him fall in but didn’t see him come back up

* Kai gets back to where ever he’s staying and promptly passes out for like three days

* The person that saw him fall in calls the cops and they assume Kai drowned and begin searching for his body

* Lloyd and the others at this point are already at chen’s island.

* Nya gets a call from the police about Kai and she like them assumes he drowned.

* She begins looking for Lloyd and the others to tell them that Kai’s gone then gets wrapped up in all the Chen stuff

* Kai wakes up to find that he’s on the news for being dead

* He decides to take advantage of this and decides to just go by shogun now

* He also decides to “pretend” to be female cuz he’s to recognizable no ther reason totalyyyy (yes this is a transfem Kai au cuz I do what I want)

* Meanwhile with the ninja when they catch up with Nya they learn that Kai’s dead and are very upset about it

* Chen also fails in his plans because he doesn’t have all the elements and when he try’s to use the spell the staff explodes killing him & clouce

* Skylor is arrested and put into kryptarium for working with her dad (this is very important I promise)

* Lloyd feels really bad about Kai because the last time they spoke he said really mean stuff and he wonders if Kai fell in somehow related to that.

* Meanwhile Kai begins making connections in the crime sphere in ninjago. She wears a disguise (a mask, dress large jacket and other clothing to hide her identity) and grows a reputation for herself

* She eventually starts to notice how shitty life is for lower class citizens of ninjago city and how the criminals and the upper class take advantage of that.

* She starts helping these people (mainly orphans) and creates a safe haven for them where all of them can live safely under her protection.

* She amasses a following for the people she helped + some criminals who have kinda changed their ways and they become a pretty big gang in ninjago city (I don’t have a name for this yet)

* With the ninja morro happens but garmadon takes the place of Kai in it cuz he never got banished (just imagine morro got let out by clouse on accident cuz he still attempted to banish garm but failed) and everything is basically the same up until they confront ronin

* Back with Kai a few months before Lloyd gets possessed she ran into a girl on the street named Natalie. Natalie claims to be an orphan and Kai does what she normally does when she finds a poor starving orphan on the street, she scoops her up and brings her back to her shelter (I don’t have a name for this yet either)

* Turns out Natalie is actually ronins daughter. She used to live with her parents in Styx (ronin was still doing ronin stuff so he was constantly gone all the time and she mainly lived with her mom) until one day ronin refused to pay soul archer his debt and souls archer went after his family. Nat’s mom ends up sacrificing her self to protect nat and nat runs away after. She ends up in ninjago city all alone.

* Kai after learning this decides to go and have a chat with ronin (because no one hurts her kids the people under her protection) and she runs into the ninja + garm when she goes to confront ronin (it’s when the ninja try and steal the scroll much to garms dismay because he’s still trying to be good)

* She panics but is slightly relieved when non of the ninja recognizes her (definitely helps that she’s wearing a mask and feminine clothes) ronin does tho due to his connections and questions her on why she’s here

* She doesn’t speak and just attacks him (she’s too worried the ninja will recognize her voice and she thinks that they won’t agree with what she’s doing and will be mad at her)

* So chaos ensues and Kai ends up leaving once she realizes Lloyd’s been possessed by a ghost and decides to dip to not interfere with the ninja’s mission anymore

* The season goes on as planned but the ninja now know who “shogun” is thanks to ronin. Lloyds a bit suspicious because of Kai’s red shogun name but guesses that maybe she was inspired by Kai or it’s just a coincidence.

* When Kai gets back she learns that some of her group members got arrested while trying to stop a fight between two other groups and decides to brake them out of kryptarium

* Cue skylors entrance

* Skylor manages to try and escape in the chaos of Kai’s brake in and almost escapes but is cornered by some guards

* Kai who’s crawling through the vents to get out while her group members have already escaped stops when she sees skylor getting cornered. Cue the love at first sight thing and she decides to help Skylor escape cuz she’s so pretty

* Skylor accepts Kai’s help and they escape and Kai brings her to her shelter

* Skylor has had a lot of time to reflect on her self during her imprisonment and is now glad her dad died cuz she really hated being evil

* Kai and Skylor grow closer together as Skylor joins the group and eventually Kai confesses her true identity cuz she trusts Skylor

* Skylor is confused at first because the ninja put her in prison and evreything but is ok with it because of how different Kai is

* Skylor is transfem in this au too! She she helps Kai realize that she’s not pretending to be a girl and helps her except herself

* They eventually form a romantic bond and skylor takes up a new persona to work under (I don’t have a name for it yet) to match Kai’s shogun persona

That’s all I have for now but this was all rattling around in my brain and I had to write it down

Other important stuffs

* Kai’s more morally grey in this au

* She kinda becomes similar to Jason Todd in the way she acts with her shogun persona

* She basically unofficially adopts all the orphan kids she lets stay in her shelter they all call her big sis sho

* In her group she has her close lieutenants (all ocs that I’m still thinking about names for) including skylor as her right hand woman

* She is a wanted criminal because she has broken some laws

* She doesn’t really use her powers or spinjitzu unless it’s really dire circumstances cuz it could be trailed back to her life as a ninja

* She’s kinda scared of seeing her the ninja again because she feels like she’s betrayed everything they stand for by being morally grey and doing borderline bad things

Oh, Jay.

If you're looking for some help, there's this restaurant chain called Chen's Noodle House. The main location is in Ninjago City. The owner there is really nice. I'm sure she could give you some advice.

Gosh, I can’t get over how absolutely beautiful the concept art for Tournament of Elements is. Like. I could look at specifically Chen’s ferry, the setting of Zane’s ice dragon nightmares, and the underground noodle factory for… forever!!

And as far as reds and blues go, they just really pop out,,

I realize how prominent the color red was throughout Chen’s tournament house. And how the bright fiery reds contrast to cope blue hues.

And HUH — Skylor is my favorite Ninjago girl so I wanted to note this detail: Interestingly enough, from the concept sketches, her original design looks entirely different than her current.

Pixal’s original concept looks simple on sketch but in implementation would be way more darker than just her being disassembled… the head part esp (poor Pixal!! 😢).

I haven't come up with a name for him yet bc I suck at those but I've got a backstory

- He was outcast by his species before the merge because of a reason I haven't fully flushed out yet (thinking of making it so that he can't do any shapeshifting at all and making it an entire allegory), but he deals with a lot of feelings of inadequacy because of this and he thinks he's failed as an Oni

- he was outcast before March of the Oni and was lost between realms trying to find a way back home to the first realm without the power of the darkness to guide him. essentially the realm crystal is the EASIEST way to travel realms but it isn't the only way, and he spent a lot of years alone

-When the merge happens he's forced to live in a world he doesn't understand at all and a lot of people during this time are struggling to figure things out. He manages to find a job at Chen's Noodle House and starts to enjoy the life as someone who serves food so eventually he leaves with enough money saved up and opens up his own restaurant

- I like the idea of someone gaining weight when they're happy bc he used to be really emaciated and could barely eat even 3 times a week due to how hard it was to survive but now he's got a healthy relationship with food and his body and he's generally a pretty sound guy and pretty mature considering things. It doesn't look like he's fat in the image but from experience an apron will hide a lot of that lol

- He does a lot of introspection and his outlook on life is that "it's complicated and messy but at least it's life," and he usually looks at things from a realistic perspective while hoping for the best.

-He still gets irrationally angry at a lot of things though and often he'll find himself taking it out on inanimate objects and then he'll feel bad about it afterwards. He doesn't do it a whole lot in front of people, especially customers, but if he's comfortable around you you'll see him swearing and breaking things (usually with his claws on accident) a lot more

- Meets Lloyd a few weeks after the merge when he just started his job at Chen's and initially Lloyd is weary at first because yk he's an Oni and Lloyd had subconsciously associated Oni with bad and everything wrong in his life, but [name I haven't come up with yet] is essential to something Lloyd is trying to figure out so they need to interact and Lloyd figures out through sheer power of being exposed to something that HEY you dumb idiot your ancestry isn't evil or bad

- He had severe issues for awhile with meeting people's expectations and he constantly ran himself ragged trying to keep himself in multiple places at once. He felt like he had to depend on only himself for a while because of the fact he let down his Oni tribe and because of the fact he lived so long in isolation away from others. When he's hired by Skylor he burns himself out within the first week because he doesn't take a break except to go home and sleep.

- Y y y es this is meant to be an OC shipped with Lloyd but they're both demisexual here bc I will always make my favs be on the ace spectrum no matter what

-Hes 21 when the merge happens and by the events of s1 he's 27 (2 years older than Lloyd). He was outcast by the Oni when he was 15 years old (around the events of season 1)

-fun fact, Oni still have pupils in my hc you just can't see them very well. they're kind of like the changelings from mlp where they do have pupils once you look closely but they blend in so well with their irises that you can hardly see them. most Oni eye colors are red, purple, or blue. some are occasionally orange, yellow, and pink. [name I haven't come up with yet] has purple eyes

- he has so much fur/hair (think kind of like mohair on a goat) that he has to stuff a lot of it in his shirt and then use pins to hold it in place and he spends like 30 minutes each day just combing it

- he works out every other day to help clear his mind and to calm himself down but Oni are naturally pretty big anyways and really strong

- despite the fact he knows how to cook he has the worst appetite known to man and will not hesitate to eat the nastiest things ever. I like to think that anytime Lloyd gets offered gross food (as he's somehow done a lot in the show) he pretends to "steal" it but he does genuinely enjoy every single food he comes across and it's not just something that comes from his life of being outcast it also comes from his Oni biology. Though, he seems to be a lot more inclined to eat certain things even for an Oni

if it's not poison, it's food!

- has abnormally large ears for most Oni and he can hear slightly better than most people. it's also another reason why he stretch himself too thin while working when he first started because he believed everything he heard needed his attention and he was constantly trying to get to multiple places and do many tasks all at once

okay now imma go to bed hehe this was actually really fun

-has a better work/life balance in the future at the very least lol so dw

-has digitigrade feet! they're not very exposed bc he wears baggy pants all the time but if you look down you'll see he's never wearing any shoes and his paws are just out

You know how Kai looked ready to kill Jay when he first met him, just for showing an interest in Nya.

How Kai would mess with Jay in Season 1.

But he accepted the relationship in Season 6/7 (just so long as he doesn't have to see a Jaya kiss).

And even helped Jay practice his proposal in Season 10.

Yeah ...

Kai is not the only Jiang Smith Sibling who doesn't like the idea of someone dating their sibling.

First the slightly backhanded complement:

"Skylor's right, look at her, she could have inherited her father Chen's evil empire and ruled the world but instead dedicated her life to spending her day bent over a hot stove to provide low cost quality noodles to the people of Ninjago city."

There was definitely a nicer way to say that, Nya, especially when Skylor's response to that statement was the following:

Skylor had brought out two bowls of noodles, the type that always cheered her up, so as to cheer up the siblings but in hearing Nya, she then says,

"Gee, when you put it like that. *Sigh* Let me get some of those"

And then takes Nya's untouched bowl to cheer herself up

But also:

(And before you say, but maybe Nya just doesn't know because she and Kai didn't have their parents. First, a dedicated parent can get their kids properly using chopsticks by age five; but even if you say that they just don't know the rules on etiquette - your telling me that there wasn't at least one busybody old lady that would reprimand a small child for bad manners - not to mention Wu when the siblings start living with the Ninja)

Yeah, Nya's much more subtle but I don't think she's quite ready for the idea of her brother dating.

That or she just doesn't approve of Skylor being Kai significant other.

P.S.

To me Nya, sometimes, kinda comes off as that girl who was raised by her single father. She's moving out of the house, ready to have her own life away from her dad only to find out that he's started dating - and she is not happy about it.

She also, sometimes, kinda comes off like she knows that Kai, for her, was more than a brother, that he was her father - but she doesn't want to acknowledge it / is not ready to acknowledge it, because that would mean talking about the bad parts of their life, while growing up.

The Ruins of Ninjago City post Merged World(pt1)

Ninjago Spirits' AU

The Merge hadn't been kind to Ninjago City.

Rarely were natural disasters of this level kind to the location that often saw many, many sorts of negative events. Wojira's attack, the Sons of Garmadon's reign, the attempted collapse from the Serpentine...

Oracle the Crested Overseer had wailedbout her warning a moment too late, and then the city was plunged into chaos. Tide Keeper, the Sailed Patriarch, had done what he could, keeping the coast from flooding the streets of the city - but even the oldest of the Phantoms had limits.

Buildings had collapsed, homes had been destroyed, families were torn apart or silenced during the storm- cars with people inside alongside houses were yanked into the air and lost to the raging winds, streets were uprooted completely.

But most of all, as the storm built to its climax, a whole chunk of the city had disappeared. About forty-five percent of Ninjago City vanished then and there, taking Arin's neighbourhood with it, too.

Survivors were in a rough situation.

Of the remaining percentage - about another forty percent of that that was unlivable. Only ten percent of the city remaining was habitable to anyone who had survived The Merge.

Even then.

Ninjago City at the start of the Merged World was nothing but ruins. Broken vehicles were mlittered across the streets, shops, and restaurants were nothing but piles of rubble that sealed off walkways. Borg Tower was missing some of its floors, the building still defiant even in the new world.

If anything, Ninjago City.. felt.. unlived in. Empty. Lifeless.

Save for a sliver of city that had managed to survive, this including Chen's Noodle restaurant where Skylor had hunkered down with people she managed to get inside in time. The Serpentine having arisen from the caverns that had luckily remained stable - wary of burrowing into the ground.

Those who had managed to cling on were left with almost nothing to their names. Skylor and the Ex-Serpentine Generals had to step up for their peoples, coming to mutual agreement that to survive- they needed to work together. It wasn't a matter of not wanting to. It was required since the snakes didn't want to brave the changed desert, and the peoples had no way of defending themselves outside of numbers and their spirit animals.

It.. was a very spotty relationship with one another, especially given the circumstances where people were afraid of what was to happen to them, given that everything they knew had vanished.

Among the familiar faces aside from Skylor and the Serpentine Generals stood an orphaned ten year old Arin and middle to late teens Brad Tudabone and Nelson who had managed to at least have their families intact.

It left Arin alone. And, more often than not, the boy would go through the remains of Ninjago City in search of his parents whenever he was went out with a group to help forage for food or resources - he always came up empty every time.

During one of his side missions, however, he met a group that he would slowly begin hanging out with as they would include him. Granted, some of the newcomers' spirit saurians had terrified him half to death on the first meeting.

The group was made up of two Ignacians named Asher and Grayson, one teen from Ninjago City named Will, a Shintarin named River who hadn't grown her wings in yet, and two people from out of realm- an Alligator and Kestrel Formling from the Never Realm. Hank and Ontari, respectively, the three of them semi-new to the Ruins.

Needless to say, they were an odd bunch- but helpful as the extra hands provided help, albeit that they often preferred to live alone.

It only took two years for the vegetation to grow at a rapid pace and simply cover almost all of Ninjago City. (Image seen below does not belong to me and belong to the rightful owners, if somebody has the @ oc fhe original artist, very appreciated).

Broken water pipes had caused miniature rivers and ponds to begin, somehow drinkable despite no maintenance at all - was this magic or some other source? Nobody knew.

Season 4 from the POV of the ninja must be wild because like. Imagine if KFC turned out to be a front for a crime ring/cult led by Colonel Sanders, who was exiled to a remote island for war crimes and starting drama between the sons of God. And Colonel Sanders organizes a martial arts tournament so he can steal the powers of the contestants and use them to transform him and his followers into unstoppable orcs. But then the ghosts of actual orcs are so insulted by this cultural appropriation that they banish him to Hell. And even after having to deal with all of this personally, you still have a fondness for KFC years later. Because that's what Chen's Noodle House was like for 99.9% of the population, ninja included. Also Colonel Sanders knows what happened to your missing parents. The writers did NOT need to add the detail of Chen owning the most successful noodle chain in Ninjago and being known/introduced through it first, but they did.
